Cord A. Daentl

Cord Roy A. Daentl, age 21, of Bloomington , died Thursday, April 1, 2010 from the result of an automobile accident. His final act of love was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation. Cord was born on January 27, 1989 in Lancaster , WI the second of three children to Scott and Lori (Brodt) Daentl. He worked at Ace of Clubs/Tranels Supper Club for four years. Cord graduated from River Ridge High School in 2007. He enlisted in the US Army and volunteered to serve in Iraq , returning home in January. Cord was returning to Iraq in June with his unit. He had attended UW Whitewater for one year and had attended ITT Tech in Madison for one year and was working towards a bachelors degree. Cord was a 2^nd degree black belt, lettered in wrestling at River Ridge and enjoyed hunting and computers; especially online gaming.

Lillian L. Dailey

Lillian L. Dailey, age 95, of Sienna Crest in Platteville, died Monday, October 11, 2010 at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque, Iowa. She was born on November 30, 1914 in Arthur, WI, the daughter of Charles P. and Mayme J. (Dolphin) Dobson.

Lillian is survived by her daughter, Audrey Johnson, Platteville and her son, Bruce (Lori) Dailey, Highland; 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Guerdon, two grandsons and several brothers and sisters.

As per her request, private graveside services were held at Greenwood Cemetery in Platteville with Reverend John Oliver officiating. Martin Schwartz Funeral Home in Platteville is serving the family.

Lucille Dailey

Lucille Dailey completed her lifes journey late Wednesday afternoon on March 14, 2012. She was born on July 6, 1935 to Wilfred (Fred) and Genevieve LaBerge on a rural farm in Rusk County, Ladysmith, Wisconsin. She died of a very advanced stage and aggressive cancer less than a week after her admission at the Lancaster Care Center.

Lucille grew up on a small family farm in the Town of Dewey, approximately five miles from Ladysmith, Wisconsin on the north side of the Flambeau River. She developed a profound love of nature and the beauties of Wisconsin. She was an avid bow hunter, fisherwoman, and especially enjoyed long walks accompanied by her beloved canine companion, Katie.

Growing up on a family farm and being the last of five children, she developed a strong work ethic, did her share of work around the house and assisted her father on the farm. She was operating heavy farm equipment in her early teens and received a special waiver to drive at age 14. Lucille was a good student and she was also an accomplished musician, playing solo trumpet and participating in the Tony High School marching band. She received numerous solo and band silver and gold medals for regional and state competitions and was a regular soloist at junior high and high school events, including her own graduation from Tony High School in 1953 in a class of 38.

She attended Wisconsin State University-Superior and married Donald Dailey on June 12, 1954. She raised three children Marie (William) Salen, Mark (Tammi Sather) and Kathleen. She returned to Wisconsin State University Superior to complete her Bachelor of Science in June of 1965 and her Master of Education in June of 1966. Her professional career as an educational psychologist included Douglas County Public Schools, Grant County Public Schools and the Winter School System in Sawyer County and spanned thirty years.

She was actively involved with the ARC as a psychologist, and the Lions Clubs of Winter and Lancaster as an active member. She supported a number of good causes and could be counted on to lend a helping hand when she could.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, Genevieve and Fred, her sister (Kathryn), brothers Richard and Wilfred and her son, Mark. Surviving her are her two daughters, Marie (William) Salen of Bellingham, WA and Kathleen of Lancaster, WI, three grandsons Michael Salen (Lissa Michel)) Salen of Bothell, WA; Matthew (Monique Wilson) Salen of Sydney, Australia; and Alex Dailey of Superior, WI. She also leaves two great granddaughters, Hadley (Superior, WI) and Inara (Bothell, WA).

Lucilles daughters would like to thank the medical staff at Grant Community Clinic, especially Laurie Meghen her nurse practitioner as well as Ginger and Heather. Dr Hickman and the nursing staff at Grant Regional Health Center. We are also grateful for the assistance that we received from Grant County Hospice program, particularly Kim Martens her hospice nurse and the entire hospice care staff. The Lancaster Care Center and their very generous and caring staff that made Lucilles last days comfortable and safe. And Pastor Pam Strakeljahn who provided caring support for the family during this difficult time.

James Davies

James "Jim" E. Davies, age 71, of Platteville, died Sunday, September 06, 2015, at Atrium Post Acute Care in Lancaster. Jim was born on January 14, 1944 in Lancaster, the son of Ray and Dorothy (Treloar) Davies.

Jim graduated from Platteville High School. He then was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he drove a transport truck in Panama. Jim married Lois M. Tindell on February 24, 1968 at First English Lutheran Church in Platteville. He worked for Montgomery Ward, Farm & Fleet, B & W Milling Co., and Haskins Gas and Oil. He then opened his own saw sharpening business.

Jim loved watching NASCAR, his dogs and his bird, spending time with his grandchildren, and he also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Lois; his two children, Richard "Dick" (Nancy) Davies, and Tina Davies, both of Platteville; three grandchildren, Aliya, Katie, and Dalton Davies; two sisters, Jane Bartow of Lancaster, and Patricia "Pat" (Elmer) Ritter of Boscobel; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives & friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 14, 2015, at Martin Schwartz Funeral Home, 100 Park Place, Platteville, with Rev. Michael Short officiating. Private family burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Anita F. Day

Anita F. Day, age 87, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, March 31, 2011, at the Lancaster Care Center, Lancaster. She was born on December 21, 1923, in Dundee, IL, the eldest of four born to Frank and Emma (Holtz) Schmidt. Anita spent her childhood years in Racine, and graduated with high honors from Washington Park High School. She later graduated from the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Education and taught in Port Edwards and Sun Prairie High School before her marriage. Anita married Larry A. Day of Madison of June 9, 1951, in Christ Congregational Parsonage in Racine. Shortly after their marriage, Larry was called into the service as a Lieutenant in the Army Medical Corp. Together they lived in Ft. Sam Houston, TX, Ft. Ord, California, and also in Wurzburg and Kitzingen Germany before returning to civilian life in 1954. In 1956, Larry purchased the Unseth Drugstore in Westby and the family then spent five happy years in Westby. In 1961, Larry opened Days Rexall Drugstore in Lancaster, WI, Larrys hometown, as the owner and pharmacist. Larry continued in that capacity until his unexpected death on May 9, 1997. Larry and Anita enjoyed raising their five children in Lancaster and treasured all of their friendships and thoroughly enjoyed their many activities. Anita did Yoga for many years and was greatly interested in nutrition and vitamins. Her lifelong interests were traveling, sewing, reading, and creative writing and gardening. Over the years, Anita clerked part-time at their drugstore, helped with cub scouts, 4-H and taught Sunday school. She also held offices in her church and homemakers group. Anita enjoyed time spent with her family and she was so proud of each one and felt many times blessed. They were truly the wind beneath her wings and the center of her life. Her greatest sorrow was the loss of her husband. Anita was a longtime and active member of the Lancaster Congregational Church, their Couples Bridge club, her Homemakers group, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Lancaster Country Club, and the UW Alumni Association of Grant County.

Survivors include her children: Carrie Krogman, Fennimore; Larry Day, Jr., Madison; John (LuAnn) Day, North Aurora, IL; Jane (Frank) Cox, Lubbock, TX; Nancy (David) Shaw, Corvallis, OR; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Violet (Richard) Gorham, Elk Grove Village, IL; Betty Schmidt, Los Alamitos, CA; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her husband, her sister, Shirley Dersien and sister-in-law, Delores (Day) Klevgard.

Funeral services were on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church with Pastor Mark Dieter officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Monday, April 4, 2011, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church.

James E. Day

James E. Day, age 83, of Bagley, died on Monday, January 5, 2009, at the VA Hospital in Madison. He was born on May 25, 1925, in Lancaster, the son of Bernell and Miriam (Ivey) Day. In 1943, James enlisted in the United States Army and served his country during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1946. On November 9, 1954, James was united in marriage to Darlean Allen in Michigan. After their marriage, the couple resided in Milwaukee for 40 years, where James taught small engine and auto repair. He retired in 1985 and returned to Bagley. James continued to do small engine work out of his garage. He was a member of the Liscum Brothers American Legion Post No. 482 of Bagley and the William Pollock VFW Post No. 2344 of Lancaster.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Ann Day and two sons-in-law, David Irish and Robert Wieher; his sisters: Dorothy Belcher and Mary Napierala and a brother, Robert Day.

Survivors include his wife, Darlean Day, Bagley; his children: Dennis (Lucy) Day, West Allis; Daniel (Robin) Day, Milwaukee; Cynthia Irish, Bagley; Karen Weiher, Milwaukee; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his brother, Charles (Barbara) Day, Milwaukee; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Friday, January 16, 2009, at the Bagley Methodist Church in Bagley at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mary Ann Floerke and Pastor Darrel Allen officiating. Burial with military honors will be at a later date. Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington assisted the family.

Mae L. Day

Mae L. Day, age 87, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on May 18, 1920, the daughter of Adam and Julia (Elskamp) Mink. Mae was untied in marriage to Harold H. Day. He preceded her in death in 1990. She enjoyed being a homemaker and taking care of her family. Maes neighbors were also very special to her, and her family would like to extend their sincere thanks for their care and kindness.

Surviving are her children: Dennis Reich, Jamestown, ND; Jerry Day, Fennimore; Steve (Jill) Day, Cuba City; Mary Day, Windsor, CO; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Helen Leeser, Lancaster; sister-in-law, Mary Mink, Prairie du Chien; many nieces and nephews.

Mae was preceded in death by six brothers: Virgil, Leland Gus, Keith, Claude, Herbert, and Donald.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 15, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Teresa Day

Teresa C. Tess Day, 49, of Lancaster, passed away on August 4, 2014. Her happy spirit never wavered as she cheerfully conquered a brain tumor for some of the last 13 years, repeatedly defying the odds.

Tess was born on January 5, 1965 to Dean and Rosemary Tierney. She graduated from St. Francis High School in 1983 and attended UW-La Crosse. Tess married Craig R. Day on August 8, 1987.

Tess believed wholeheartedly in living life to its fullest, and used each day as an opportunity to give to others and share happiness. She loved children mostly her own. Tess raised her three children and provided daycare for multiple families, caring for the kids as her own. Her gift with young children was unmatched.

Tess also found joy in the Badgers, Bruce Springsteen, beer, meeting new people, and making memories with those she loved.

Tess is survived by her three children: Stacy, Brian, and A.J; her mother, Rosemary Maher; her sisters, Sharon (Jim) Stritzel, Laura (Mike) Pistey, Ann (Terry) Foppe; a brother, Jim (Sharon) Tierney; and brother-in-law, Paul Rush. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and members of the extended Day family.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Rush, her father Dean Tierney, and her step-father, Ray Maher.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 8, 2014, at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster, with Fr. John Meinholz officiating. Burial was in Rewey Dietzman Cemetery, Mifflin Township. Friends called from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, at St Clement Church, where a 2:45 p.m. parish scripture service was held. Friends also called from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Friday at the church. Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lancaster is assisting the family. Joan Dean

Joan M. Dean, age 75, of Cassville, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 18, 2013, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on December 18, 1937, in LaCrosse, the daughter of Leo and Anastasia (Bouzek) White. Joan graduated from Prairie du Chien High School. She was united in marriage to Charles L. Dean in 1955 in Kansas City. After their marriage, Joan followed Charles to Germany where he was stationed while serving his country. In 1957, Joan returned to Cassville. Charles returned to Cassville following his honorable discharge and was employed with John Deere for thirty years. Joan raised her family and enjoyed traveling and camping. She also enjoyed riding the motorcycle with her husband. Charles preceded her in death in 2003.

Survivors include her four sons: James (Brenda) Dean, Cassville; Chuck (Lisa) Dean, Monroe; John (Rhonda) Dean, Temecula, CA; Tim (Dawn) Dean, Monroe; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; her sisters: Dolores Doris Ploessl, Bloomington; Joyce Davidson, Prairie du Chien; Teresa (Don) Heal, Prairie du Chien; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandy in 1968; her brother, Bob White and her brothers-in-law: Gerald Ploessl and John Davidson.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, November 21, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville with Father John Meinholz officiating. Lucille M. Dean

Lucille M. Dean, age 82, of Potosi, died on Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster. She was born on January 4, 1926, in Balltown, IA, the daughter of Clarence and Elizabeth (Pothoff) Bleile. Lucille attended school at St. Francis School in Balltown, IA. On November 6, 1945, she married Herbert Dean. Together they farmed in Potosi until the time of Herberts death on March 13, 1975.

Lucille is survived by a daughter, Sandy Krepfle (Steve Allsman), West Chester, PA; one grandson, Bryan Krepfle; two sisters: Anna (Leonard) Schmidt, Dubuque, IA; Irene Streif, Lancaster; one brother, Elmer (Mary) Bleile, Dubuque, IA; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Lucille was preceded in death by two brothers: Ervin Bleile and Donald Bleile.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2008 at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Tennyson with Reverend Richard Leffler officiating. Burial was held in St. Andrew Cemetery, Tennyson. Family and friends were welcomed from 4 until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at the Martin Funeral Home in Potosi with a Rosary service at 4:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Bette A. DeBuhr

Bette A. DeBuhr, age 78 of Lancaster, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster with her family at her side. She was born July 11, 1934, the daughter of Benjamin and Tessa (Franklin) Meusel of Galena, IL. She met Robert A. DeBuhr at a dance at the Royal Palace Dance Hall in Galena. They both loved to dance the jitterbug and waltz and found they came to love each other. They married on May 4, 1956 and had 57 years together. They raised their family on a farm just outside of Lancaster and moved into Lancaster in 1995, when they semi-retired.

Bette loved to sing and directed the church choir for 11 years at the Bethlehem E & R Church. Playing the piano and organ was one of the many talents she had. She also loved to knit, sew, and refinish furniture. One of her favorite things to do was ride on the Goldwing, or in the car, and look at the scenery. Bette also loved animals and would keep treats in the vehicle for the farm dogs. As they pulled into the farm, the dogs would come running.

Surviving is her loving husband, Robert, who was her full-time caregiver through her years with Alzheimers; her children: Daniel DeBuhr, Diane (Bob) Noble, and Cory (Becky) DeBuhr; her grandchildren: Eric Noble, Adam (Lindsey) Noble, Andrew (Cassandra) Noble, Ryan DeBuhr, Colton DeBuhr, and Morgan DeBuhr; her great-grandchildren: Alexis Noble and Levi Noble; and her brother, Benjamin (Kate) Meusel; and brother-in-law, Jim (Eunice) DeBuhr.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Tessa Meusel; her sister, Marie (Robert) Carlisle, Sr.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called on Sunday, July 7, 2013 from 4:00 8:00 p.m. at the Schwartz Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services on Monday.

Robert DeBuhr

Robert (Bob) A. DeBuhr, 79, of Lancaster, passed away Thursday September 19^th2013, at home with family at his side, after a long battle with Leukemia.

He was born on March 9^th, 1934, a son of Alfred and Ella (Steer) DeBuhr of Lancaster.

Bob has joined his wife, Bette A. (Meusel), who passed away this past July 3^rd, to dance their way into Eternity. A fitting transition, as they loved to dance the Jitter Bug and the Waltz, which brought them together at the Royal Palace in Galena 58 years ago, united them in marriage 57 years and provided them with the joy they used to celebrate and bridge differences.

Bobs first job was working for his father, followed by Pioneer Motors and John Deere, which served him well as he saved for the purchase of the Family Farm. Having grown-up and matured serving and helping local farmers, he earned the opportunity to turn his hobby and passion farming into a lifelong career. He also enjoyed motorcycling, especially riding one of his several Honda Gold Wings with Bette. In the past decade, Bob was Bettes primary care giver as she battled Alzheimers. During this time he relished the moments Bette would begin singing an old favorite, or would sing along a song on the radio in one of the daily car or truck rides.

Bob was an avid reader, certain to be at his kitchen table in the wee hours of the morning pouring over some periodical or his iPad. He conveyed that interest to his children and grandchildren, having demonstrated his persistent quest of knowledge. He also found time to spend with each and every grandchild, with the boys it tended to be his fondness of all things motorized and sports, and with his granddaughter he got to share a mutual fondness of horses.

Surviving are his children, Daniel DeBuhr, Diane (Bob) Noble, and Cory (Becky) DeBuhr; his grandchildren, Eric Noble, Adam (Lidsey) Noble, Andrew (Cassandra) Noble, Ryan DeBuhr, Colton DeBuhr, and Morgan DeBuhr; great grandchildren, Alexis Noble and Levi Noble; his brother, James (Eunice) DeBuhr; and a brother-In-law, Benjamin (Kate) Meusel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Ella DeBuhr; and his sister, Shirley.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, September 24, 2013, at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster, with Rev. Mark Dieter officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, September 23, at Schwartz Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.

Calvin F. Dechow

Calvin F. Dechow, age 81, of Cassville, died on Friday, September 23, 2011, at home. He was born on January 31, 1930, in Prairie du Chien, the son of William and Mary (Harwood) Dechow. Calvin graduated from Cassville High School in 1948 and entered into the United States Army. On January 7, 1951, he was united in marriage to Lois I. Hampton in Colorado Springs, CO. Following his honorable discharge, Calvin returned home and purchased the family farm. He was employed with Dairlyland Power for thirty-nine years before retiring. Calvin enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

Survivors include his wife, Lois Dechow, Cassville; children: Linda (Dennis) Johll, Deb (Bob) Hochhausen, and Jim Dechow, all of Cassville; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

In addition to his parents, Calvin was preceded in death by his brother, Bob Dechow and a sister, Joan Klein.

Karen A. Dechow

Karen A. Dechow, age 62, of Potosi, died on Friday, December 16, 2011, surrounded by family and friends from complications of the lungs after a two year battle with cancer at Grant Regional Health Center in Lancaster.

Karen was born on June 1, 1949, in Lancaster, the daughter of Lyle and Rosemary (Bausch) Clauer. She graduated from Lancaster High School in 1966. Karen worked the majority of her life as a CNA at the Lancaster Memorial Hospital and Orchard Manor Nursing Home. Her most recent place of employment was at the Pine Point and the Potosi Brewery in Potosi. Karen was very outgoing and loving. She enjoyed long rides in the convertible with Harry and her loving best friends, Mick and Peg Walsh. Any chance for a holiday celebration, she was there and especially enjoyed Christmas. She will be sadly missed by all her knew her.

Survivors include her children: Cheryl (ne: Mahr) (Todd) Walton, Lancaster; David (Karen) Mahr, Potosi; Brian (Marcie) Mahr, Mt. Hope; step-son, Cory Dechow, Eau Claire; her life partner of fourteen years, Harold Blindert, Potosi; his seven children and their families which were greatly loved and appreciated; two brothers: Dennis Clauer, Fennimore; Thomas (Cathy) Clauer, Yorba Linda, CA; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Len P. Demert

Len P. Demert, age 81, of Cassville, went to be with his Lord surrounded by his family on Saturday, September 22, 2012, at Gunderson Lutheran in La Crosse. He was born on May 10, 1931, in Neillsville, the son of Lawrence and Edna (Grimm) Demert. Len married Carol Honeysett in 1955. During his lifetime, Len was in the Wisconsin National Guard, a teacher at Footville Elementary and Janesville Marshall Junior High, a counselor at Parkview High School and a salesman for A.O. Smith Harvestor. Len and Carol resided in Footville, before moving to Minnesota and then back to Wisconsin to live in Cassville. He spent much of his time involved in the communities where he lived, gardening, and working in his church. Len served his Lord by loving his family and helping the children of Haiti to get a better education. He raised money to build schools and support orphanages there.

Len is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol; their four daughters: Carla (Bruce) Flesch, Platteville; Lynn (Roger) Langseth, Stewartville, MN; Patty (Jack) Nicolay, El Paso, IL; Penny (Marcus) Neal, Mineral Point; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters: Margie Lau and Audrey Meyer; a brother, David (Joy) Demert; and a brother-in-law, Ralph (Georgia) Honeysett.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services were held on Saturday, September 29, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at the Cassville High School Gymnasium in Cassville. Family and friends called on Friday, September 28, 2012, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the River Valley Community Church in Cassville and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the school. Mark S. DePriest

Mark S. DePriest, age 51, of Bloomington, died Friday, November 2, 2012, at his home.

Mark was born in Chicago, IL on April 6, 1961, a son of Leavell and Doris (Hansen) DePriest.

Mark is survived by his mother, Doris DePriest of Potosi; his brothers, Jeff DePriest of Potosi and Wayne DePriest of Maumelle, AK; his aunts, Claire Salcido and Arlene Whalen; and his nieces and nephews, Jessica, Zac, Luc, and Sammie DePriest.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leavell; and a brother, Daniel.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Martin Funeral Home in Bloomington is assisting the family.

Phyllis C. Derleth

Phyllis C. Derleth, age 91, of Lancaster, died on Monday, March 23, 2009, at Morningside Assisted Living in Lancaster. She was born on March 23, 1918, in Dodgeville, the daughter of Fred and Mary (Griffin) Blotz. After attending country school, she graduated from Dodgeville High School and Edgewood College in Madison. On November 30, 1939, Phyllis was united in marriage to Robert F. Derleth at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Dodgeville. After moving to Lancaster, they joined St. Clement Catholic Church. Phyllis was a member of Grant Regional Health Center Auxiliary and the CCW. She enjoyed raising their family of three sons and working at the Ben Franklin and Federated Stores, which she and her husband owned and operated.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband in 1996.

Survivors include her children: Fred (Jane) Derleth, Lancaster; Thomas (Denyce) Derleth, Watertown; Richard (Marti) Derleth, Pinehurst, NC; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster with Father William Seipp officiating. Burial was in St. Clement Cemetery, Lancaster. Friends called on Thursday, March 26, 2009, from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the church.

Helen Devlin

Helen C. Devlin, age 96, of Mount Hope, passed away on Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Fennimore. She was born on May 27, 1920, the daughter of David and Carrie (Millin) Clark. Helen graduated from Bagley High School and Platteville Normal Teacher's College. On June 19, 1941, she was united in marriage to Paul Devlin at St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church in Mount Hope. Together they farmed in rural Mount Hope. Helen taught in many of the area country schools and then went on to receive her Master's in Education from the University of Wisconsin Platteville. She then taught First grade a West Grant Schools for many years, retiring in 1985. Helen was a lifelong, devoted member of St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church where she also was the church organist. In retirement, Helen volunteered her time to many. She enjoyed traveling, had a very strong work ethic, and dearly loved her family.

Survivors include her three children: Michael (Nancy) Devlin, Woodman; Joe (Shirley) Devlin, Mount Hope; Theresa Devlin, Chippewa Falls; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Dorothy Konichek; Eloise Atchison; Gene Clark; many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her brother, Floyd (Violet) Clark; two brothers-in-law, Loren Atchison and Leo Konichek.

Funeral services were held on Monday, December 19, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Lawrence O'Toole Catholic Church in Mount Hope with Father Miguel Galvez officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. William A. "Bill" Dickerson

William A. Bill Dickerson, age 51, of Bagley, died on Friday, January 22, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center in Dubuque. He was born on August 17, 1958, in Bartow, FL, the son of Henry and Geraldine (Cartwright) Dickerson. In 1977, Bill was enlisted in the United States Navy and retired in 1997. He was also employed at John Deere for the last five years. On November 15, 1991, Bill was united in marriage to Joanie Schurman. Bill was a family man and was always proud of his children and grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, and ride horses. Bill cared for all gifts of God, including the animals and the land. He was a member of the Liscum Brothers American Legion Post No. 482 of Bagley and Cassville VFW Post No. 7080.

Survivors include his wife, Joanie Dickerson, Bagley; three children: Katrina (Nicholas) Klauer, Madison; Kody and Kory both of Bagley; three grandchildren: Isaac, Noah, and Adam; his mother, Geraldine Dickerson, Florence, MS; three sisters: Barbara Morton, Florence, MS; Lena Haddock, Port Gibson, MS; Cissi (Everett) Herrington, Port Gibson, MS; his mother-in-law, LaVon Schurman, Bagley; many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

Bill was preceded in death by his father, his brother, DeWayne, sister, MaryAnn New, and his father-in-law, Jake Schurman.

Agnes M. Dietrich

Agnes M. Dietrich, age 90, of Cassville, died on Friday, December 26, 2008, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home in Lancaster. She was born on December 30, 1917, in Cassville, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Breuer) Dietrich. Agnes graduated from St. Charles Catholic School and also attended college. She was employed as a secretary at a manufacturing company in Chicago. Agnes moved back to Cassville and was employed with Wisconsin Barge Lines. She cherished every family gathering, picnic, and holiday and was known as the family photographer, capturing many special memories. Besides photography, Agnes also enjoyed reading and playing bridge. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and its CCW and the Cassville Historical Society.

Charles H. Dietrich

Charles H. Charlie Dietrich, 88, of Cassville, died Saturday, March 14, 2009, at home surrounded by family. A Visitation was held from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at St. Charles Catholic Church with Father John Norder officiating. Burial with Military Rites accorded by the Cassville VFW Post #7080 was held in the St. Charles Cemetery, Cassville Township. The Martin Funeral Home in Cassville served the family.

Charlie was born on September 22, 1920, in Cassville, the son of Henry and Margaret Dietrich. He graduated from Cassville High School in 1939 and served in the Army Air Forces for four years, primarily in Northway, Alaska during WWII. After being discharged from the Army, he worked in Chicago, Illinois for the Milwaukee Railroad. Charlie returned to Cassville in 1947, where he worked for Finney Implement, for four years. In 1952, Charlie joined Dairyland Power Cooperative where he worked for 34 years, retiring in 1985.

Charlie served with the Cassville Fire Department for 25 years. He was a Cassville Village Board member for 20 years and was Village President for eight years. Charlie was a member of the Housing Authority and was appointed by the Grant County Board of Supervisors to the Great River Road Commission. He worked tirelessly with state and federal representatives to establish the Cassville Ferry to Millville, Iowa. The ferry tug continues to bear his name, the Charlie D. He served as president of the Cassville Harbor Commission. Charlie was also a member of the Hidden Valley/Tri-State Tourism Committee and was appointed by former Governor Tommy Thompson to a special task force on the state parks of Southwestern Wisconsin. Charlie was a lifelong member of the St. Charles Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Cassville Civic Club, V.F.W., and Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his civic duties, Charlie was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved his family and community. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Hess, originally from Glen Haven; his twin sister Charlotte Dietrich; daughters, Patricia (Robert) Gregory of Madison; Nancy (Michael) Wish of Onalaska; Susan Jones of Princeton; Madonna (Denis) David of Snohomish, Washington; and Mary (Allen) Lee of Cassville; six grandchildren, Stacia Myers-Kriesser, Krista Klaas, Robert Gregory, Jr., Dana Gregory-Vike, Michael Wish, Jr., and Nicole Wish; three great-grandchildren, Paige Kriesser, Jade Kriesser and Chase Gregory.

He will be joined in heaven with his parents, sisters Florence Weber and Agnes Dietrich, and son Steven Dietrich (survived by Deanna Dietrich).

Charlotte E. Dietrich

Charlotte E. Dietrich, age 91, of Cassville, died on Tuesday, February 07, 2012, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Lancaster. She was born on September 22, 1920, in Cassville, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Breuer) Dietrich. Charlotte graduated from St. Charles Catholic School and also attended college. She was employed for a short time in Chicago before moving back to Cassville and working for Badger State Bank. Charlotte was employed for several years at Badger State Bank and served as the Vice President. She was also the first female president of the Wisconsin Bankers Association. Charlotte was very involved within the Cassville community and was a very giving and helping person to anyone in need. She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church, its CCW, the National CCW, and the Catholic Knights. Charlotte was also a member of the Cassville Historical Society and the Womens Association. She cherished every family gathering, picnic and holiday. Charlotte enjoyed needlework, gardening, was an excellent cook and loved to entertain.

Mildred T. Dietrich

Mildred T. Dietrich, age 90, of Cassville, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at home surrounded by family.

Mildred was born on October 26, 1922, in Glen Haven, the daughter of Frank and Margaret Hess. Mildred married Charles Dietrich of Cassville on September 11, 1945. She was a lifelong member of St. Charles Catholic Church, the NCCW, and the V.F.W. Wives' club. Mildred was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved her family and community. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, baking, and playing cards. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Mildred is survived by her daughters: Patricia (Robert) Gregory of Madison, Nancy (Michael) Wish of Onalaska, Susan Jones of Princeton, Madonna (Denis) David of Cassville and Mary (Allen) Lee of Cassville; six grandchildren: Stacia Myers-Kriesser, Krista Klaas, Robert Gregory, Jr., Dana Gregory-Vike, Michael Wish, Jr., and Nicole Wish-Schaefer and four great-grandchildren: Paige Kriesser, Jade Kriesser, Chase Gregory, and Luke Vike Jr.

She will be joined in heaven by her parents; husband, Charles and son, Steven (survived by Deanna Dietrich); brother, Arthur, and sisters, Armella and Irma.

Robert E. Dietrich

Robert Eugene Dietrich, a kind and gentle man who believed strongly in God, family, and country, died peacefully, with family by his side, at Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab, on Thursday, December 29, 2011. Bob was born June 3, 1918, in Rockford, IL, the only child of Leo and Augusta (Scheibl) Dietrich. His mother died when he was six months old, so he was raised by his dad and his Aunt, Lillian Dietrich.

Bob spent his youth as an auto mechanic and musician, playing trombone in a small band. He served in the 485^th Bomb Group, 831^st Bomb Squadron, 15^th Air Force, during WWII, stationed in Italy where he flew 55 missions, on B-24s, over Europe and North Africa. He met and married Beulah McDowell, the love of his life, a Cassville home economics teacher on July 6, 1949. Together they raised five children. After the War, he was employed at Dairyland Power Coop, and then he was a rural letter carrier holding several state positions. He later became Postmaster, and was instrumental in the building of the current Cassville Post Office. Ultimately, he found his real calling, when he took over Dietrich Insurance from his uncle, Julius. When Bob retired, he had offices in Cassville, Dickeyville, and Prairie du Chien. Over the years he was the consummate salesperson, and continued to sell Medical Air insurance even in his retirement. Bob was very civic-minded and was a founding member of the Cassville Lions Club and part of the first Cassville VFW, of which he has been a member for 67 years. He also helped organize and served on the Cassville Rescue Squad, and for several years, he ran the Cassville Twin-O-Rama. Additionally, he was part of the group that built the Senior Housing apartments in Cassville. Bob was equally active in his Church and the area Knights of Columbus where he attained the distinction of Grand Knight and the Fourth Degree Honor Guard.

After retirement, Bob and Beulah traveled to Italy, Germany, Russia, Switzerland, Hawaii, Alaska, and the Panama Canal, as well as many Bomber group reunions, as they made their winter home in San Benito, TX, and maintained a summer home in Cassville, always with a faithful dog companion. Most recently, as his health declined, he has made his home in Dodgeville, first with his daughter, Sharon, and then at CrestRidge Assisted Living, and, finally, at Upland Hills Nursing and Rehab.

Despite his many interests, Bobs greatest joy was family. He never missed a family event or milestone and his children and grandchildren knew they were his highest priority. His life lessons about faith and service to others will be a lasting legacy. His love of life, the ever-present twinkle in his eye, his contagious laugh and sense of humor were an inspiration to all who met him.

Bob is survived by his children, Sharon (Arch) Wimer, Dodgeville,WI; Janet (Pete) Peto, Juneau, WI; Barb (Greg) Lenz, Cassville, WI; Pat (Barb) Dietrich, Oregon, WI; Michael (Jeanie) Dietrich, Pine Grove, PA.; eighteen grandchildren, three great-granddaughters ,brother-in law, Fritz McDowell, and sisters-in-law, Elsie McDowell, Ruby Shaw, and Ruth Freiheit. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Beulah (McDowell) Dietrich, and his parents, Leo and Augusta Dietrich.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 12 noon, on Monday, January 2, 2012, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, with Father Patrick Wendler and Father David Flanagan presiding. Burial with military honors was in St. Charles Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home in Cassville is assisted the family.

Leona Digman

Bernadean DiVall

Bernadean J. DiVall, age 99, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, at Orchard Manor Nursing Home, rural Lancaster. She was born on October 18, 1916, the daughter of Faye and Nellie (Henry) Johnson. Bernadean graduated from Platteville Normal College and was a school teacher at Liberty Ridge Country School. She married John B. DiVall on June 18, 1937, at Liberty Ridge Church in rural Lancaster. Together they farmed the DiVall Family farm in North Lancaster Township. During tax season, Bernadean prepared many filings while working at McIntyre Kinney, Urban and Kussmaul Law Offices in Lancaster. She served on the former Lancaster Memorial Hospital Board of Directors and was a member of the Lancaster Congregational Church.

Survivors include a son, Gary (Sunny) DiVall; seven grandchildren; 15 great-children; one great-great-granddaughter; and many members of the Johnson and DiVall families.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, John; a son, James "Jim" (Janelle) Divall; a grandson, Jeffrey Divall.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church with Reverend Mark Dieter officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services at the church. In lieu of plants and flowers a Bernadean J. DiVall Memorial Fund has been established. James V. DiVall

James V. Jim DiVall, age 67, of Lancaster, died on Tuesday, July 06, 2010, at his home. He was born on December 24, 1942, in Lancaster, the son of John B. and Bernadean J. (Johnson) DiVall. Jim graduated from Lancaster High School. He then attended UW-Platteville and graduated with a degree in Agriculture Education. On July 31, 1964, Jim was united in marriage to Janelle K. Duffield in Galena, IL. Together they farmed in North Lancaster Township. Jim enjoyed reading and his dogs. He was a very friendly and generous man to all who knew him.

Survivors include his children: Jackie DiVall, Lancaster; Justin (Rita) DiVall, Boston, MA; Joyelle (Walid) DiVall-Rayan, Madison; nine grandchildren: Morhgin, Jackson, Madilyne, Jacob, Sasha, Sophia, Isabelle, Mattias, and Max; his mother, Bernadean DiVall, Lancaster; his brother, Gary (Sunny Adair) DiVall, Lancaster; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, John, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Janelle and a son, Jeffrey.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 8, 2010, at 10:30 a.m. at the Lancaster Congregational Church with Pastor Mark Hoehne officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Lancaster. Family and friends called on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Schwartz Funeral Home in Lancaster and from 9:30 a.m. until time of services on Thursday at the church.
